RE: APPOINTMENT OF NEW SHERIFF – DEADLINE TO SUBMIT LETTER OF INTEREST AND RESUME

The Delaware County Republican Party announced today that persons interested in seeking appointment as Delaware County Sheriff need to submit a letter of interest and resume by Friday, April 20, 2012 at 5:00 p.m. The letter of interest and resume need to be submitted by email to Robert J. Mann, Chairman Delaware County Republican Central Committee, at the following email address: DelawareGOPChair@gmail.com.
While not required by the above referenced deadline, applicants will also be required to sign a waiver for a background check, and will be responsible for paying the cost of the background check, up to $150.00. Applicants will also be required to complete a questionnaire by a future date to be specified, and will be required to be interviewed by the Delaware County Republican Party’s Screening Committee. Interested applicants are also directed to Ohio Revised Code Section 311.01 to ensure they meet the required statutory qualifications.
Pursuant to Ohio law, the Delaware County Republican Central Committee must appoint a new Sheriff within 45 days of the office being vacated. A meeting will be scheduled for such purpose at a date and location to be announced.

Born in 1822, he was educated at Kenyon College and Harvard Law School. He fought in the Civil War, was wounded in action, and rose to the rank of brevet major general. Elected by a heavy majority, Hayes entered Congress in December 1865. Between 1867 and 1876 he served three terms as Governor of Ohio.
He was elected President in 1876 and served from 1877- 1881. Hayes had announced in advance that he would serve only one term, and retired to Spiegel Grove, his home in Fremont, Ohio, in 1881. He died in 1893.
